Security Deposit: A damage deposit of £1,000 (£2,500 for racing) is required for each boat to cover any damage sustained to the vessel whilst during the charter period.
Proof of identity: We require a copy of the skippers passport, driving license and cleared non-cash funds prior to the charter period plus the signed charter agreement.
Charter agreement: We will send this to you for completion and return. Please read it thoroughly and contact us for any clarification of terms. The start and end times of your charter are stated in your charter contract. Please ensure you understand and adhere to them.
Payment: You may pay by debit card with no additional fee or by bank transfer. Please pay in pounds sterling. If you pay by credit card we will charge a surcharge of 2%.
Sailing Experience: For bareboat charter the minimum requirement is the Day Skipper qualification plus VHF Radio License. One member of the party must produce evidence of competence to skipper the yacht plus you must have one additional competent crew member on board. We do realise that many people do not have paper qualifications but have heaps of experience. Please discuss with us your experience levels but as a base line the level of Day Skipper level and experience of 3 years as skipper in similar sized vessels would allow you to sail locally during the day time.
RYA ⁄ MCA Coastal Skipper and relevant experience above would allow you to sail further afield, cross channel and night passages. A sailing log or cv of relevant experience may be required… but as we say – please discuss this with us.
Should this not be forthcoming or should the handover base feel the safety of the yacht is in question the operator or manager reserves the right to provide a professional skipper at the charterer’s expense.
Cleaning: Any cleaning of the vessel at the end of a charter will be charged at £60 per boat.
The above is ancillary to, not in replacement of, the terms of your charter contract.
