Living and working in Lanzarote – between sailing yachts and motor yachts.
LAVA CHARTER, stands for the development and the natural preservation of the Canary Islands as a dreamlike, year-round sailing area. Lava Charter is the mother company, that has the biggest permanent charter fleet of sailing yachts in the Canary Islands. Together with Lava Chandlers, our nautical shop, we are based in the heart of Marina Lanzarote, right next to the marina office.
We are looking for multi-talented technician who would like to be a part of our young and dynamic company that distinguishes itself by looking at the charter and department market from a different perspective and enriching it with new ideas. We offer a permanent job position in our international team for the next possible date.
As a technical all-rounder (f/m/d) you are responsible for the repair, maintenance and care of our sailing yachts. Our customers are international, they come to sail with us during a week. Our season is from September to May. June to August are quieter months so they can be used for maintenance and your holidays.
As a base for communication, German, English are essential. Spanish and French would be a plus. We are happy to assist with any additional language courses and further trainings.
Additionally, we also provide external services like maintenance of the boats, oil change. That you will be responsible for.
Your daily task are going to be:
- Structured organization of maintenance and care of sailing yachts
- Reliable and creative implementation of spontaneous repairs
- 24h standby by arrangement
- Recording of working hours, tasks and spare parts for owner accounting
- Reliable implementation of planned repairs
- Organization of spare parts in consultation with the Shop Manager
- Help turn guests into enthusiastic repeat visitors and create enthusiastic customer experiences
Independent, structured and consistent work with consideration of economic factors is a natural procedure for this position.
The same applies to cross-departmental and team-oriented working methods.
Your profile - Completed vocational training or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in the technical, craft sector (electrics, electronics, fiber, engines, metal)
- Independent, flexible, goal- and solution-oriented
- Comprehensive, technical and craftsmanship understanding
- Good MS Office knowledge
- Good knowledge of German and English. Spanish will be an additional point.
- Sailing skills indispensable
